OK, we need a little break from the serious (OK, I need a break). So, I thought we’d get to know each other with a simple, non-threatening, soul revealing, ice breaker.
So, here’s the question again, what do you listen to? Myself, I gave up listening to the radio a couple of years ago when it was stolen out of my truck. I’ve had the worst luck with junky stereos- that’s another story.
Here’s what I’ve got on my iPod,
No Music:
- I consider it Brain Candy and I’d rather be learning something.
Audio Books:
- Ted Dekker’s The Slumber of Christianity,
- Donald Miller’s Blue Like Jazz
Podcasts (“Radio” or “TV” shows distributed over the Internet):
- BoagWorld.com: web design podcast: British, funny, informative, in that order! This is the show that got me hooked on Internet based AV content. I consider Paul to be a distant British mentor that doesn’t know me.
- Buzz Out Loud: Tech News with common sense.
- Geeks and God Podcast: “A podcast that educates and encourages technology in christian ministries.”
- John Eldredge and Ransomed Heart (Audio and Video): The Wild at Heart guys, and Epic and Waking the Dead, and The Way of the Wild Heart, and Walking with God…
- Lifechurch.tv Message Series (Audio and Video): God changed my life through this ministry I give back through them.
- MacBreak Weekly: Mac News, Tips, and Software picks. (Its a little “This Week in Baseball” but the gems you collect are worth the slow bits.
- Meet the GIMP: Graphics Image Manipulation Program Tips and tutorials. For those of us who can’t afford Photoshop, the GiMP is an able and FREE alternative.
- Mosaic: Messages from Erwin McManus’ ministry in LA. Very down to earth, very refreshing.
- (Guilty Pleasure) The Rissington Podcast: An audio show about Web Design and Cheese. British, very funny, and swears a lot!! The only podcast I have that has an “Explicit” tag.
- System: Patrick Norton shows you how to build all kinds of Geek stuff. Remote Control Robots, firewalls on an old linux PC, Bio-fuels, etc.
- Tekzilla: Patrick Norton and Veronica Belmont give product reviews, help &, tech tips on everything from iPods to camcorders, HD to the Internet, plus do it yourself projects.
- TWIP – This Week in Photography: Camera technique, technology, and news
- This WEEK in TECH (audio): Discussion of the latest trends in high tech.
